HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's soccer team is scheduled to host Ole Miss in its 2007 home opener, Friday, with a 4 p.m. contest at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
This will be the sixth meeting between the two schools, since the series began in 1997. The Lady Rebels hold a 5-0 overall advantage after defeating the Lady Eagles, 3-1, on Sept. 8, last season.
Southern Miss (0-2-0) enters the contest after participating in LSU's Tiger Invitational last weekend in Baton Rouge. The Lady Tigers walked away with a 3-0 victory on Friday, while Furman also blanked the Lady Eagles, 3-0, on Sunday.
Ole Miss, who is led by Head Coach Steve Holeman, is coming off of a pair of ties against Miami and USF, last weekend.
Southern Miss fans will be able to follow the matches from home by choosing the Gametracker link on www.SouthernMiss.com.
There will be only a $1 admission for Lady Eagle supporters wearing gold shirts, and free shirts will be given to the first 50 fans.
