HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's soccer team is scheduled to face Alabama, Friday, in a 7 p.m. contest at the University of Alabama Soccer Stadium.
The contest marks the fourth meeting between the two teams since the series began in 1997. Alabama owns a 2-1 overall advantage, after defeating Southern Miss, 3-0, on Aug. 27, 2000.
The Lady Eagles (2-4-0) are coming off of a two-game winning streak against South Alabama and in-state rival Jackson State last week.
Southern Miss is led offensively by a freshmen unit, consisting of Amy Skeet (Lewisville, Texas), Mallory Barnes (Lafayette, La.), Jana Mason (Tupelo, Miss.) and Samantha Polley (Louisville, Kent.).
The Crimson Tide (5-2) enters the contest after a 9-0 shutout victory over Alabama State on Wednesday.
