HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - Southern Miss Head Women's Tennis Coach Randy Rowley has announced the signing of British standout, Zoe Lee, to a national letter of intent for the 2007-08 academic year.
Lee, from Hale, Great Britain, reached the quarterfinals of the U18 Nationals in 2006. She played No. 1 for her school, Richard Huish, and helped her team advance to the quarterfinals at the National School Finals (Aberdare Cup). She played No. 1 at the U18 and Ladies for Cornwall (state) and won the Junior Open at both Penzance and Bristol.
Lee currently has a LTA rating of 4.1, a Cornwall (state) ranking of No. 2 and an UK senior ranking of No. 86 as well as No. 29 in U18. She has been the Cornish (state) champion at all ages from U10 to Ladies in both singles and doubles.
We are very lucky to have signed someone of Zoe's level this late in the year," Rowley said. "Zoe will be another of our young players who brings a powerful game and international experience to the program. Zoe's experience at the national level makes for a perfect fit for next year's team."
