Baseball Ranked as High as No. 26 in National Polls

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team is ranked No. 26 in the nation by The National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association and Collegiate Baseball and No. 31 by the USA Today/Coaches Poll.
Southern Miss, (12-4) went 2-2 for the past week, defeating No. 13 Alabama, 5-0 on Tuesday before dropping 2-of-3 at LSU this past weekend. The Golden Eagles lost Friday's game, 2-1, dropped Saturday's contest, 15-8, before winning the series finale on Sunday, 5-3.
In the College Baseball Poll, Rice is No. 9, Ole Miss is No. 14 and East Carolina is No. 27. In the NCBWA Poll, Rice is No. 7, Ole Miss is No. 15, Alabama is No. 22 and East Carolina is No. 27.
The Golden Eagles host Southeastern Louisiana at "The Pete" on Tuesday night, March 13, at 6:30 p.m., before traveling to Mobile, Ala., to face South Alabama on Wednesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. Southern Miss then returns home to host Kent State for a three-game weekend series at "The Pete". Friday's game starts at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's game begins at 1 p.m., and the series finale on Sunday will start at Noon.
