Men's Basketball Faces LCC International in Exhibition Finale

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss closes its 2007-08 men's basketball exhibition slate Thursday night, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. (CT) when they host LCC International at Reed Green Coliseum.
Tickets for the contest are $5.
The two teams are meeting for the second consecutive season in exhibition play. Last year, Southern Miss defeated Lithuania Academy, 81-52. The Golden Eagles had two players reach double-figures, led by Sai'Quon Stone's 17 points. Jeremy Wise scored ten points, and Gjio Bain added seven rebounds.
The Golden Eagles opened its exhibition season with a 100-55 victory over Loyola (N.O.) last Friday night. Pre-season All-Conference USA selection Jeremy Wise led a group of four players who notched double-digit point totals by scoring 21 points. Also hitting double-figures was Sai'Quon Stone (18 points), who also led the team with seven rebounds, Courtney Beasley with 16 points and R.L. Horton with 10.
LCC International is coming off a 118-54 loss at TCU Tuesday night. Twelve of its 13 players are freshman, with junior Antanas Montrimavicius as the only upperclassmen.
Southern Miss will tip-off the 2007-08 season when they host Belhaven, Monday, November 12 at 7 p.m. (CT). Tickets can be purchased at the Southern Miss Athletics Ticket Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by calling 1-800-844-TICK.
