Men's Golf Finishes Ninth At Hyatt Plantation Club Intercollegiate

DORADO BEACH, Puerto Rico - The Southern Miss men's golf team recorded a third-round total of 278, finishing ninth overall at the Hyatt Plantation Club Intercollegiate at the par-72, 7,064 yard Plantation Club.
Overall, the team shot 292 in the first round, 299 in the second round and 278 in the third round to bring their total score to 869, giving Southern Miss a ninth place finish.
Texas Tech won the tournament with a final score of 843, and was followed by Kentucky (854), Charlotte (856), Louisville (856) and Georgia State (858) to round out the top five teams.
On the final day, Justin Elliott led Southern Miss with a score of 67, followed by Jason Cuthbertson and Joel Myrick who both shot 70, Danny Dennis with a score of 71 and Rocky Cleland with a score of 77.
For the entire tournament, Cuthbertson and Elliott both tied for a 16th place finish, while Dennis tied for 20th, Myrick finishing 39th and Cleland tying for 56th.
Oscar Floren and Andrew Dresser of Texas Tech tied for first place, individually, with scores of 207.
