Baseball Ranked As High As No. 22 in Latest Polls

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team is ranked No. 22 in the nation by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Online publications such as the Rosenblatt Report has the Golden Eagles ranked No. 19 and SEBaseball.com ranks Southern Miss No. 28.
After a 3-1 week, including a weekend series sweep over Troy, the Golden Eagles dropped two places from last week's ranking of No. 20.
Rice (18-6) is No. 4 in the nation and Tulane (14-8) is No. 18. Other ranked teams on Southern Miss' schedule include No. 6 Mississippi State (15-0), No. 12 Wichita State (20-3) and Alabama and Ole Miss.
Southern Miss hosts South Alabama on Tuesday at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field at 6:30 p.m., travel to Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m., contest and to Birmingham, Ala., for a three-game weekend series against UAB. Friday's game starts at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's at 2 p.m., and Sunday's at 1 p.m.
