Baseball Ranked As High As No. 28 in Latest Polls

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team is ranked No. 28 in the nation by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. After having a 3-1 week, including winning 2-of-3 against Birmingham Southern over the weekend, the Golden Eagles improved to 6-2 overall on the season.
Rice (10-2) is ranked No. 1 in the nation for the first time this season, and Tulane (8-3) is No. 9, giving Conference USA three teams ranked in the top 30. Mississippi State is ranked No. 18, Ole Miss is No. 22 and Wichita State (9-2), who Southern Miss defeated in the Coca-Cola Classic sits at No. 24.
The Golden Eagles travel to Southeastern Louisiana for a 6:30 p.m. start on Wednesday, April 1, before hosting Illinois State for a three-game weekend series. Friday's game starts at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's game starts at 1 p.m., and Sunday's game begins at Noon.
