Soccer To Host UAB And Memphis On Friday And Sunday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss soccer team hosts UAB and Memphis on Friday and Sunday at the Track and Soccer Complex. Game times are 4 p.m., on Friday and 1 p.m., on Sunday.
Southern Miss, under the direction of Head Coach Gail Macklin, enters the weekend with a 4-6-1 overall record, 0-2 mark in Conference USA, after falling to Houston and Rice, 1-0 and 3-0, respectively, last weekend.
The Lady Eagles have scored 19 goals on the season, averaging 1.69 goals per match.
Sarah McFadden leads the team with six goals and 15 points and is tied with Kim Turner with a team-best three assists. Carly Barkley is second on the team with four goals and nine points, while Jessica Stephens is third with three goals. Turner and Kalee Silovsky each have two goals on the season. Defensively, Christina Duvall has a team-best 31 saves on the season, while Holly Cox has 29.
UAB enters the weekend with a 4-6 record, 2-0 mark in Conference USA. The Blazers have scored eight goals on the season, averaging 0.78 goals per match.
Sally Palmer has a team-high four goals on the season, while Nadine Liverpool and Rachael Axon each have two assists on the season, Defensively, Julie McFarlane has a team-best 21 saves, while Katie Forbis has 15.
Memphis enters the weekend with a 5-4-2 overall record, 1-0-1 mark in Conference USA. The Tigers have netted 28 goals on the season, averaging 2.68 goals per match.
Shoko Mikami and Kylie Hayes have a team-best eight goals on the season, while Mikami also has a team-best four assists and 20 points. Geneil Newbern has three goals on the season, while Eliza Wellford has three assists. Defensively, Isabel Briones has 39 saves on the season.
Following the weekend, Southern Miss plays its final two road games of the season, Oct. 13 at Marshall and Oct. 15 at East Carolina. Southern Miss will then play its final three matches of the season at home, hosting UCF on Saturday, Oct. 21, Tulsa on Oct. 27 and SMU on Oct. 29.
