Soccer Falls To Tulsa, 3-1

POPLARVILLE, Miss. -- - The Southern Miss soccer team lost its Conference USA match to Tulsa, 3-1, on Friday night at the Pearl River Community College Soccer Complex in Poplarville, Miss.
After rain soaked the Southern Miss soccer field, the match was moved later in the day to the campus of Pearl River Community College.
Southern Miss (4-12-1, 0-8-0) opened the match by scoring the first goal by Kim Turner, when her shot floated over the outstretched hands of the Tulsa goalie, Meredith Hart, only 4:07 into the match.
Tulsa (7-10-0, 3-5-0) answered the Golden Eagles at the 12:33 mark when Hannah Taylor scored on a straight-on shot past the Southern Miss goalie, Christina Duvall. Taylor scored her second goal of the half at the 34:17 mark, taking the pass from Sarah Green.
Southern Miss finished the first half out shooting Tulsa, 6-4.
Tulsa scored its final goal of the night when Megan Cash literally cashed in on a wide open goal at the 67:39 mark, receiving an assist from Kristina Corona and Molly Fitzsimmons.
The Golden Eagles out shot the Golden Hurricane, 9-6. Sarah McFadden, Sarah Brennan and Kim Turner finished with two shots each and Melissa Planells and Jackie Ryan added one shot apiece.
Southern Miss closes out the regular season at home against SMU in a 1 p.m., match at the Southern Miss Track and Field and Soccer Complex.
