Soccer to Host Tulsa and SMU

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Lady Eagle soccer team will host the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa and the Mustangs of SMU, this weekend, in Conference USA match-ups at the Marshall Bell Track and Field and Soccer Complex.
Friday's game between the Lady Eagles and the Golden Hurricane will be the first meeting between the two teams.
Southern Miss, under the direction of Head Coach Gail Macklin, enters the weekend with an overall record of 4-11-0 and a conference record of 0-7, following a loss from Central Florida (2-1) last weekend.
Tulsa enters the weekend with a 6-10-0 overall record and a conference record of 2-5-0. The Golden Hurricane competed last weekend, taking a loss from East Carolina (0-1) and defeating Marshall (2-1).
Sarah McFadden leads the Lady Eagles in goals (6) and points (15) and is tied for third with Kim Tuner with three assists.
The Golden Hurricane are led by Megan Cash, who has recorded seven goals, three assists and a total of seventeen points.
The match-up between Southern Miss and SMU on Sunday also will be a first-time meeting. The Mustangs enter the weekend 14-2-1 overall and 7-0-0 in Conference USA play, making them the No. 1 team in the conference.
The team is led by Olivia O'Rear, who has tallied twelve goals, five assists and a total of 29 points. The Mustangs begin the weekend at UCF.
Friday's game begins at 3 p.m., and Sunday's game time is set for 1 p.m.
