Soccer To Play Marshall

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Lady Eagle soccer team will play Marshall in a 6 p.m., match Friday at Sam Hood Field in Huntington, W.Va.
Southern Miss, under the direction of third-year Head Coach Gail Macklin, enters the weekend with a 4-8-1 record overall and 0-4 in conference play. Marshall enters the weekend with an overall record of 4-6-1 and a conference record of 0-3-0. At home, the Thundering Herd is 2-2-0.
On the year, Sarah McFadden leads the team with six goals, three assists and 15 points, while Carly Barkley has five goals, 1 assist and 11 points. Leading in goal, Christina Duvall has 52 saves in seven games, while Holly Cox has 29 saves in six games.
This will be the third time Southern Miss and Marshall have met, but the first time in Huntington. The all-time series is tied at 1-1 with the Herd taking the first meeting 2-1 in overtime at Ole Miss in 2002. The Golden Eagles won 3-0 last year in Hattiesburg.
Following Friday's match, Southern Miss travels to Greenville, N.C., where the Lady Eagles will take on East Carolina at noon.
