Lady Eagle senior Micah Stephens followed her two goal, two assist season opening performance against Louisiana-Lafayette with a hat trick (three goals) against the Lady Delta Devils, as she has surpassed her career total (three) with five goals so far in 2005. Stephens posted the first hat trick since Lauren Prewitt accomplished the feat against Arkansas Little-Rock last season.
In recording the hat trick, Stephens becomes the 12th Lady Eagle to post a hat trick, joining Stacey Hall (2, 1997, 1999, 2000), Terah Beth Baltzer (1997, 1998), Lauren Prewitt (2, 2004), Kelli Curry (1997), Tricia Wiles (2001) and Carly Barkley (2003).
In addition to Stephens? hat trick performance, junior Sarah Brennan added two goals, while juniors Kim Turner and Carly Barkley and freshman Sarah McFadden each netted their second goal of the season. Brennan posted two goals in a match for the third time in her career, and now has 11 career goals. With her single goal, Barkley now has 16 career goals, and moved into fifth place all-time in school history.

?We?re building some depth,? Macklin said. ?The minutes we were able to give some of our other players was good, and it will help us down the road.?
