HATTIESBURG, Miss.? The Southern Miss Lady Eagle soccer team tied Centenary today, 0-0, in double overtime, as the team played the third contest of a nine-match road streak. It was the first double-overtime game for Southern Miss since playing Tennessee-Martin to a 0-0 tie last season.
With the tie, Southern Miss is now 3-0-1 on the season, matching last year?s start through four matches. Centenary is now 3-3-1 on the season.
Southern Miss finished with a tie, despite out-shooting Centenary 33-9, including 13-4 in the first half and 15-2 in the second half. Centenary out-shot the Lady Eagles 1-0 in the first overtime, before Southern Miss closed the match out-shooting the Ladies 5-2 in the final period.

Sophomore Megan Kolts had a career-high seven shots today, including a career-best four shots on goal. Senior Micah Stephens and juniors Carly Barkley and Sarah Brennan finished with five shots. Stephens had three shots on goal, while Barkley and Brennan both had two.
Christina Duvall made her first career start and first career performance in goal today, finishing with five saves, in posting her first career shutout. Her five saves were the most of any Lady Eagle goalkeeper this season. Duvall posted the second consecutive shutout by a Lady Eagle goalkeeper, following Holly Cox?s 3-0 shutout at
Rachel Alexander had four shots for Centenary, while Ali Hilsher posted 17 saves.
