Soccer Hits Road For Two Matches This Weekend

Southern Miss (1-0) enters the weekend off a 5-2 season opening victory over Louisiana-Lafayette on Aug. 26. In that contest, senior Micah Stephens, one of Conference USA?s Players to Watch in 2005, finished with two goals and two assists, in helping the Lady Eagles starting season 1-0 for the third consecutive season and three of the last four seasons.
In posting two goals and two assists, Stephens, who had surgery on her knee three weeks ago, became the fourth Lady Eagle to finish a game with two goals and two assists.

Also against Louisiana-Lafayette, freshman Sarah McFadden scored her first career goal, while juniors Carly Barkley and Kim Turner each posted their first goal of the season, while senior Katie McClary also had an assist against the Ragin Cajuns. Freshman goalkeeper Holly Cox also posted three saves.
On the season, Southern Miss has scored five goals in 21 shot attempts.
