The Golden Eagles other signees are Luke Adkins (OF/5-9/165/ Nettleton HS, Nettleton, Miss.), Ryan Belanger (RHP/5-10/160/Copiah-Lincoln CC, Wesson, Miss.), Jeremy Davis (OF/5-11/180/Cathedral HS, Natchez, Miss.), Brian Dozier (SS/5-11/170/Itawamba Agricultural HS, Fulton, Miss.), Bailey Hartel (SS/5-10/170/Pearl River CC, Hattiesburg, Miss.), Toddrick Johnson (OF/6-1/180/Meridian CC, Meridian, Miss.) and Keith Winstead (C/6-3/195/Pearl River CC, Hattiesburg, Miss.).
Southern Miss finished the 2004 season with a 41-21 overall record, the third-straight 40-win season, setting a school record for consecutive 40-win seasons. The Golden Eagles also made their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, also setting a record for consecutive tournament appearances, and sixth appearance overall.
