? Freshman forward Shannon Stueber scored a career-high 27 points, leading the Lady Eagles to an 80-73 victory over Tulane in Conference USA action Saturday evening in Reed Green Coliseum. With the win, the Lady Eagles snapped a five-game Conference USA losing streak, improving to 8-14 in the regular season and 2-7 in league play, while Tulane dropped to 10-12 and 2-7.
Emer Foley posted her second straight double-double and her third double-double in four games with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Liz Biland scored 14 points and Deondra Carter chipped in 13 points. Courtney Simmons led Tulane with 17 points followed by Lakethia Hampton with 16 points, Nikki Luckhurst and Dominique Philpots had 12 points a piece for the Green Wave.
?This was a good win for us and a good team effort,? Head Coach Joye Lee McNelis said. ?I thought we got off to a good start and that was the difference in the game. We got some easy shots.?
