HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - David Cornwell scored 19 points to lead Southern Mississippi to an 80-67 win over Spring Hill on Friday.
The Golden Eagles (6-7) used an 18-3 rally over the final six minutes of the first half to take control over the Badgers (6-4).
The Golden Eagles were without leading scorer and rebounder Shaun Simpson, who has taken a leave of absence for personal reasons, team officials said.
Cornwell scored 16 of his 19 points in the first half, including a pair of three pointers.
Jarekus Singleton added 13 points and Courtney Beasley tacked on 11 for Southern Miss and Jason Forte had nine rebounds.
Krisner Green scored 19 for Spring Hill and Barkley Falkner and Noah Woolridge each added 11 points.
