Basketball Falls To Bradley, 56-43

The Southern Miss men's basketball team dropped a 56-43 decision to Bradley before 2,577 in Reed Green Coliseum tonight.
With the loss, Southern Miss saw its two game winning streak snapped, falling to 4-7 on the season. Bradley improves to 6-2 on the season.
In the first half, Southern Miss saw Bradley lead by eight on two occasions, before the Golden Eagles tied the game at 17-17, thanks to an 8-0 run, capped by a lay-up from Kyle Lamonte. Bradley then finished the first half on a 4-1 run, to take a 21-18 halftime lead.
Bradley again led by eight, 28-20 with 14:34 remaining in the game, before the Golden Eagles cut the lead down to three, 30-27, on a three-point basket from Jarekus Singleton.
With the team down by four, 34-30 with 8:38 to play, Bradley's Danny Adams scored six straight points, on a basket and free throw, along with a three-point bucket, giving Bradley a 10-point lead, 40-30 with 7:56 to play, putting the game out of reach.
Lamonte finished with a game-high 18 points, while Singleton finished with nine. Lamonte also led Southern miss with six rebounds.
Jeremy Crouch finished with 13 points for Bradley, while Lawrence Wright had 12. Zach Andrews finished with a game-high eight rebounds for Bradley.
Bradley out-shot Southern Miss 40.4 (19-47) percent to 29.8 (14-47) percent. The Braves also held a 36-28 advantage in rebounds.
Southern Miss returns to action against West Florida on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m., as it continues its seven game homestand.
