Lady Eagle Tennis Team Competes At Dartmouth Competition

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Four Lady Eagle tennis players are competing at Dartmouth for a fall competition held Oct. 29-31.
In A-Singles, Nikhila Narra lost to number one seed Steph Schnitter (Harvard) in the first round, 6-0, 6-1. In the A-Singles Consolation, Narra was defeated by Angela DiPastina (OSU), 1-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Also in A-Singles, Ali Blackett defeated Cindy Chu (Harvard), 6-4, 7-6(6). In the next round she lost to Andrea Novaceanu (Buffalo), 6-2, 7-5.
In B-Singles, Chelsea Bond lost to Carolina Huignard (Syracuse), 6-4, 6-1 in the opening round. In the B-Singles Consolation, she lost to Valerie Chacon (URI), 6-4, 6-1.
Courtney Ulrich also competed in the B-Singles, losing to Danielle Murray (Darmouth), 4-6, 6-3, 10-3. In the B-Singles Consolation, she defeated Grace Hedstrom (URI), 6-1, 6-2. She advanced to the next round, defeating Jill Markowtz (Rutgers), 6-3, 6-1. She lost to Liyang Wang (Cornell) in the in the semifinals.
In doubles action, Bond/Ulrich were defeated by Bachner/Koksal (LIU) in the first round, 8-6. Blackett/Narra defeated Carrell/Murray (Dartmouth), 8-1, advancing to the next round where they were defeated by Chu/Stewart (Harvard), 8-5.
