HATTIESBURG, Miss.? The Lady Eagle soccer team returns to the road this weekend with a Friday match at UAB and Sunday match at Memphis.
Southern Miss enters the weekend with a 4-6 overall record, 1-4 mark in Conference
On Friday, Southern Miss and UAB meet for the eighth time, with the Blazers holding a 6-1 series advantage. Southern Miss? lone victory over UAB came in 2002, a 3-2 win.
Southern Miss has scored 22 goals in 170 attempts this season, and average 15.5 shots and 1.90 goals per match.
Freshman Sarah McFadden netted two goals, one each in the team?s two weekend matches, and is tied for the team lead with five goals with Micah Stephens and Kim Turner. McFadden also had an assist in the
Stephens leads the team with four assists and 14 points, while McFadden and Barkley each have 31 shots on the year.
Freshman Holly Cox leads the team with 37 saves on the season.
UAB enters the match with a 7-6-1 overall record, 4-5 mark in Conference
Sally Palmer leads the team with nine goals and 21 points on the season. Nasra Abdullah has a team-high six assists, while Jill Porto has a team-high 36 shots.
Katie Forbis has a team-best 96 saves in goal this season.
On Sunday,
Shoko Mikani has a team-high 13 goals, 30 points and 47 shots on the season. Kylie Hayes ranks second on the team with 10 goals, while Asuka Kubota and Nicky McLeod lead the team with six assists.
Southern Miss closes out the regular-season next weekend, with home matches on Oct. 28 against
