Soccer Set To Open Conference USA Schedule

The home matches will be the first for the team since its season-opening 3-1 victory over Samford, Aug. 27. The Lady Eagles were scheduled to face Louisiana-Lafayette at the Southern Miss Track and Field and Soccer Complex Sept. 17, but inclement weather associated with Hurricane Ivan forced the match to be canceled.

Friday?s match will be the first league match of the season for both Southern Miss and TCU. Southern Miss hopes to improve on last season?s 2-6-2 Conference
The Lady Eagles have scored 16 goals this season, averaging 2.6 goals a match.
Senior Lauren Prewitt leads the team and ranks second in Conference
Barkley has two goals on the season, while freshman Megan Kolts, freshman Andrea Kerkhoff, sophomore Kim Turner, sophomore Sarah Brennan, and senior Katie Randolph, have each scored single goals this year.
Senior goalkeepers Anna Snyder and Leslie Schoeplein have split time in the goal this season. Snyder has recorded 16 saves, while Schoeplein has five. Both players have each recorded a shutout.
TCU went 9-8-2 in 2003, including a 7-3 Conference
The Lady Horned Frogs enter Friday?s match with a 2-5 record. The Lady Horned Frogs will also look to rebound from a loss in their last match, a 3-1 Sunday loss to George Mason.
TCU has scored just nine goals this season, led by senior Jessi Moore?s five goals.

Junior Nicki Hawkins has a team and Conference USA-high 10 goals. Hawkins has scored 24 points this season, while recording four assists and two game-winning goals. Freshman Chelsea Davis has scored four goals, while freshmen Sarah Fisher and Whitney Lonsford have each netted three goals this season. Senior goalkeeper Nicole Oliver has 17 saves on the year, including a shutout, while junior goalkeeper Katie Cook has 11.
