Baseball Ranked As High As No. 12 In Latest Polls HATTIESBURG, Miss. ?
Southern Miss (36-13, 17-7 Conference USA) lost 4-1 to New Orleans, in a midweek game and then swept Louisville in a three-game Conference USA weekend series, 5-4, 15-6 and 3-2 in 10 innings.
East Carolina (41-7) is ranked No. 5 by NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball, No. 6 by Baseball America, and No. 8 by Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches Poll, marking the highest-ranked team in Conference USA. Tulane is ranked No. 11 by NCBWA, No. 13 by Baseball America and Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches Poll and No. 25 by Collegiate Baseball.
Southern Miss travels to Charlotte, N.C., for a three-game Conference USA weekend series against Charlotte on Friday - Sunday, May 14-16. Friday and Saturday's games start at 5 p.m., and Sunday's game is at noon, CT.
