Soccer Returns To The Road
HATTIESBURG, Miss.? The Lady Eagle soccer team returns to the road this weekend, for a Friday match at Charlotte and Sunday match at East Carolina.
The team, under the direction of first-year Head Coach Gail Macklin, currently sits 5-6-1 overall and 1-5 in Conference
Southern Miss and Charlotte will meet for the sixth time Friday at 1 p.m. The Lady Eagles have a 0-4-1 all-time record against the Lady 49ers, including a 1-1 tie in last year?s game.
The Lady Eagles have scored 18 goals this season, averaging 1.39 goals a match.
Senior forward Lauren Prewitt leads the team with nine goals, including three game winners. Six of Prewitt?s goals came in the team?s first two matches, as she recorded back-to-back hat tricks to open the season. Prewitt has a team-high 20 points on the season, and is tied for the team lead in assists (two) with senior Micah Stephens, sophomore Carly Barkley, and freshman Megan Kolts.
Barkley is second on the team with four goals and 10 points. Sophomores Kim Turner and Sarah Brennan, senior Katie Randolph, and freshmen Kolts and Andrea Kerkhoff each have one goal on the season.
Senior goalkeepers Anna Snyder and Leslie Schoeplein have split time at goalkeeper this year. Snyder has 34 saves, while Schoeplein has 16 saves. Schoeplein has two shutouts on the season, while Snyder has one.
The Lady 49ers have scored 12 goals on the year, including a .89 goals per game average.
Freshman Lindsey Beam leads the team with four goals, three assists and 11 points. Junior Lindsey Palmiero has two goals and one assist on the year. Sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Huffman leads the team with 38 saves and a shutout, while senior goalkeeper Lauren Dansby has 22 saves.

East Carolina is 3-8-2 overall and 1-3-1 in Conference
Junior Megan McCallion leads the team with five goals, three assists, and 13 points this season. Senior Sarah Stoltz and junior Carmer Calpo have each scored two goals this season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Church has 41 saves on the season, including three shutouts. Junior Lindsi Troxler has 26 saves on the year.
Following the weekend road trip, the Lady Eagles return home to face
Sunday?s match will be the final home match for six Lady Eagles, Emily Anne Chenoweth, Kay Beth Costilow, Leslie Schoeplein, Anna Snyder, Katie Randolph, and Lauren Prewitt.
