Southern Miss Baseball To Host Free Clinic
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss Head Coach Corky Palmer and the 2004 Golden Eagle baseball team will host a free baseball skills clinic, Saturday, Feb. 7, at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
The free clinic is open to players ages 9-12 and will be held from 9:30 a.m. - Noon. Head Coach Corky Palmer, 2003 Keith LeClair Conference USA Coach of the Year, his assistants and the 2003 Conference USA Champion Golden Eagles will work the clinic. Participants will receive instruction in all phases of the game of baseball, including pitching, hitting, fielding and base running. For more information, call the baseball office at (601) 266-5329.
Southern Miss is currently in its first week of preseason practice and will open the 2004 season on Friday, Feb. 20, at 3 p.m., against Northwestern (La.) State University.
