Lady Eagles Finish 4th in Cardinal Cup
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- Southern Miss put all five of its players inside the top 25 players and finished a solid fourth in the 54-hole Louisville Cardinal Cup Tournament that was completed Sunday at the Cardinal Club here.
The Lady Eagles shot rounds of 314-319-318--951, while East Carolina claimed first place with rounds of 315-306-305--926. Host Louisville (311-315-317--943), Murray State (318-304-323--945) and Georgia State (314-320-330--964) rounded out the top five finishers.
Louisville's Meghan Little claimed medalist honors with a 75-72-72--219 finish. East Carolina's Adrienne Millican finished second at 75-76-73--224.
Natasha Vincent paced Southern Miss with a 78-79-75--232 finish, good for a tie for seventh. Ofelia Lopez finished in a tie for 15th at 72-84-85--241, while Mia Davidson (83-76-86--244), Jennifer Keefe (87-80-78--245), and Brena Quaranto (81-85-80--246) finished tied for 19th, 22nd, and 24th, respectively.
Vincent was the only Lady Eagle to shoot all three rounds in the 70's, and Lopez' even-par 72 tied the second best round of the tournament.
Southern Miss plays next in the Beacon Woods Invitational at the Beacon Woods Golf Club in New Port Richey, Fla., in a 54-hole Oct. 10-12, event hosted by South Florida.
