Southern Miss Soccer Wins Home Opener, Remains Undefeated HATTIESBURG, Miss -
Carly Barkley scored her fourth goal of the season in the 71st minute of play to record her fourth game-winning goal of the season. Micah Stephens added the second goal for the Lady Eagles just two minutes later. Stephens took a shot from about 40 yards out, which bounced over the Blue Radier goalkeepers head as she tried to save it.
Middle Tennessee (3-1) was lead in shots by Emily Carter, Christina Mascaro and Danielle LaDuke, each with two apiece.
Southern Miss' goalkeeper Anna Snyder finished the game with four saves, while Danielle Perreault also finished with four saves for Middle Tennessee.
The Lady Eagles outshot the Blue Radiers 15-12, and shots on goal 6-4.
Southern Miss returns to action at home against Mississippi Valley State Tuesday, September 16th. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
