Norman Finishes Third at the NCAA Championships

HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? The University of Southern Mississippi?s track and field standout, Cedric Norman, finished third in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships Saturday. Norman finished with a height of 7?4 1/2".

David Jaworski of Southern Cal took first with a height of 7?5 ?? followed by Shaun Kologinczak of Nebraska second also at 7?5 ??.

Norman is the second Southern Miss athlete to score points in the national meet. Jason Wilson finished eighth in the decathlon in 2000. In the same season, Wentson Riley finished fifth in the 110-hurdles in the semifinals, not advancing to the finals.

Norman concludes a stellar junior campaign, finishing first in his first nine meets.
