Parking Plentiful For Baseball Regional Tournament
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? With the start of the first-ever NCAA Regional Baseball Tournament at the University of Southern Mississippi just ahead, Golden Eagle athletic officials today announced parking details that will help enhance the tournament experience for Southern Miss fans, as well as fans of the three visiting teams.
Fans attending the three-day event will be able to park in most campus lots free of charge, and two shuttles will be provided to help move fans to and from the more distant lots.
In addition, the Driver's Ed lot on W. 4th Street just east of and across W. 4th from Pete Taylor Park, and the lot surrounding Green Coliseum will be available for tournament parking at a cost of $5 per car. Fans desiring to park in the baseball parking lot may do so for $10 per car.
The four-team event opens with Southern Miss playing Southern University at 3 p.m., Friday, while the event's top seed, Baylor, takes on Murray State in the 7 p.m., game. Three more games are scheduled for Saturday and either one or two games Sunday will decide which team moves on to the Super Regional.
