Baseball Ranked As High As No. 22 In Latest Polls
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team moved up one spot in Baseball America's Poll at No. 22, moved up No. 23 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Poll, stayed No. 27 in Collegiate Baseball's Poll and dropped to No. 30 in the USA Today Coaches Poll after posting a 3-1 record last week, including a win over Ole Miss and a series win (2-1) over Charlotte.
Conference USA member Tulane was ranked No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. In the Writer's Poll, Tulane is ranked No. 31, East Carolina is No. 34 and TCU and South Florida are receiving votes.
Southern Miss (26-10, 11-4 Conference USA) returns to action Tuesday against New Orleans at 6:30 p.m., at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field. The Golden Eagles travel this weekend, Apr. 18-20, to Memphis for a three-game Conference USA weekend series. Friday's game begins at 7 p.m., Saturday's at 2 p.m., and Sunday's at 1 p.m.
