Lady Eagle Tennis Team Falls to Arkansas State
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss women's tennis lost a match to Arkansas State, 6-1, Friday afternoon at the Willis Terry Tennis Complex at Tatum Park.
With the loss, the Lady Eagles dropped to 7-9 on the season. Arkansas State captured the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 2 matches. Amanda McClure and Jennifer Sibille teamed together, defeating Lica Lucas and Catherine Carui (ASU), 8-3.
In singles, Southern Miss' freshman Courtney Ulrich battled in a three-set match, getting the only win in singles for the Lady Eagles, defeating Carui (ASU), in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, at No. 6 singles. ASU swept singles matches No. 1 through No. 5.
