Lady Eagles Soccer Defeats Tulane

HATTIESBURG, Miss - Southern Miss, behind two goals by freshman Sarah Brennan in the first half, and five saves from goalkeeper Anna Snyder, won it second conference match of the season.

Brennan's first goal came at the 7:03 mark of the first half from 10 yards out when her shot deflected off the goalkeeper.

Ninty-four seconds later Brennan struck again. This time, her shot came off a rebound from the goalkeeper's deflection, earning her eighth goal of the season.

Lauren Prewitt added an insurance goal for the Lady Eagles (9-6-3, 2-6-1) in the second half at the 67:10 mark, for the 3-0 win.

Tulane (11-6-1, 6-4) outshot Southern Miss 13-12, but the Lady Eagles won the shots on goal category at an 8-5 clip.

Southern Miss' final match of the season will be Sunday, at home, against Mississippi State. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
