Southern Miss 4th At USF's Beacon woods Invitational
BAYONET POINT, Fla. -- The USF women?s golf team extended its lead in the Beacon Woods Invitational to seven shots today, while Southern Miss occupies fourth place after 36 holes of the 54-hole event.
Southern Miss shot a second round 306 to go with Friday's 299 and stands at 605. Ole Miss made a move in the second round, from sixth to a tie for second with a 298, the low round of the day. The Bulls had led UCF, now tied with Mississippi, by three strokes after the first round on Friday.
The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Sunday at the 6,015-yard Par 72 Beacon Woods Golf Club.
Tina Miller of Miami holds the individual lead with a two-under par (70-72--142), while USF senior Jill Crowe, fell from first - with a 69 on Friday - to a tie for third, after shooting 77 today. Natasha Vincent leads Southern Miss with rounds of 73-77--150 (tie for 11th), followed by Ofelia Lopez (75-76--151, t14), Jennifer Keefe (74-77--151, t14), Mia Davidson (78-76--154, t22) and Brena Quaranto (77-78-155, t25).
