Lady Eagles Rank Seventh in Louisville Tournament
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team shot 319-316 -- 635 to claim seventh place after the first day of the Louisville Cardinal Cup, at the Cardinal Club today. Natasha Vincent leads the Lady Eagles, holding a piece of 14th place in the overall individual standings after shooting 78-78 -- 156.
Brena Quaranto is tied for 20th, scoring 76-82 -- 158, and Ofelia Lopez shares 26th with 82-78 -- 160. Jennifer Keefe carded 83-79 -- 162 and is tied for 33rd, and Ashlea Deener is tied for 57th with 89-81 -- 170.
Tourney-host Louisville currently stands in first place with a score of 302-310 -- 612 after two rounds. UNC Greensboro is in second place with a score of 313-305 -- 618, and Memphis stands in third with a score of 312-307 -- 619.
Jenny Gleason of UNC Greensboro is currently in first place with a two-round total score of 145. Marianne Ruud of Mempis is second with a score of 148, and Jennifer Jaszek of Memphis and Nicole Wagner of Georgia State are tied for third, each scoring 150 today.
Play will resume tomorrow morning at the Cardinal club with a 7:30 a.m., central time, shotgun start.
