Lady Eagles Finish 11th in Tulane Tournament
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team improved from a 342 first-round team total Monday to a final round 324 round Tuesday to claim 11th place in the Tulane Green Wave Women's Golf Classic at Lakewood Country Club, with a 666 two-day, team total.
Host Tulane won the event with a 308-293--601 two-day total to finish 24 strokes ahead of second place Mississippi State (319-306--625). Campbell University (318-320-638), Memphis (321-318--639) and Ole Miss (330-311--641) round out the top five.
All five Tulane golfers finished in the top 10 in the tournament and Carolin Landmann captured medalist honors with a three-over-par 75-74--149 total. Jennifer Keefe posted Southern Miss' top finish with an 83-78--161 total that earned her a share of 25th place.
Other Southern Miss scorers included: Ashlee Deener in a tie for 41st (85-82--167), Natasha Vincent tied for 45th (87-81--168), Brena Quaranto tied for 56th (87-84--171) and Regan McConnell tied for 71st (95-93--188).
Southern Miss plays next in the Northern Illinois Snowbird Tournament March 14-15.
