Lady Eagles Lose Two Matches Over the Weekend
HATTIESBURG, Miss.--The Southern Miss women?s tennis team lost to Memphis, 6-1, on Friday, in Memphis Tenn., and lost to Arkansas State, 7-0, on Saturday, in Jonesboro, Ark.
On Friday, Sara Anne Harrison scored the only point for the Lady Eagles when she defeated Annika Westberg, by a score of 3-6, 0-2, ret. Memphis won the doubles point as well as the rest of the singles points to take the 6-1 victory.
On Saturday, Arkansas State won all three of the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. The team then went on to win all of the singles matches, clinching the 7-0 victory.
This marks the third conference loss of the year for Southern Miss after losing to Tulane 7-0, on Feb. 23, and UAB, 4-0, on Mar. 3. The Lady Eagles? record now drops to 1-16 on the year. The team will face Southeastern Louisiana, Mar. 30, at 1 p.m., at Tatum Park in Hattiesburg, Miss.
