Southern Miss Soccer Drops Season Finale
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ? The Southern Miss soccer team dropped its final match of the season with a 3-0 loss to UAB, Friday, in Birmingham, Ala.
With the loss, the Lady Eagles end their season at 6-10-1 overall and 2-7-1 in Conference USA play. The Lady Blazers improved to 9-9-1 overall and 5-5 in conference play.
Southern Miss keeper Leslie Schoeplein finished with nine saves in the match, setting the single-season record for most saves in a season with 87.
Three different UAB players netted goals in the match, including Jill Knottek, Jenny Rynders and Tara Kidwell. Adrienne Suffridge led the team with two assists, while Melissa Sherrell and Liz Bosscher each added an assist.
Lisa Nowoslawski finished with two saves for UAB.
The Lady Blazers out-shot the Lady Eagles, 22-6 in the match.
