Southern Miss Soccer Falls to South Alabama, 1-0
MOBILE, Ala. ? Despite a 14-12 shot advantage and a nine-shot second half, the Southern Miss soccer team could not score a goal as it lost to South Alabama, 1-0, in a non-conference match Sunday, in Mobile, Ala.
The loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 5-6 overall, while the Jaguars improved to 5-5-3 overall.
"We didn't play well," Southern Miss Head Coach Matt Clark said. "We weren't ready to play, and we have a few things that we will have correct before the next match."
Rebecca Kahn scored the lone goal for South Alabama, as she converted an assist by Jessica Gregus in the 33rd minute.
Senior forward Tricia Wiles had four shots for Southern Miss. Sophomore keeper Anna Snyder finished with three saves in the match.
For the Jaguars, Heather Adamus had three shots, and keeper Amber Angermeier finished with five saves.
The Lady Eagles return to Conference USA action next week, when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to face TCU. The team then returns home to host Houston in a match slated for Sunday.
