Lady Eagles Defeat Saint Louis, 4-2
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss took two of the three doubles matches and
used the point that goes with it and added three singles victories to post a 4-2 decision
over Saint Louis in the Conference USA Women?s Tennis Tournament here Saturday.
With the victory, Southern Miss claimed 9th place in the tournament, Saint Louis
finished 10th. Southern Miss went into the tournament seeded 11th, Saint Louis 9th.
Southern Miss? Jackie Prew defeated Saint Louis? Jayaseree Kuruvilla 6-2, 6-4, and the
match was finally decided in the No. 3 singles match when Marie Lindberg took a three-set
victory over Vicki Ziekinski, winning 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7).
