Southern Miss Soccer Resumes Conference Play Against Memphis
MEMPHIS, Tenn. ? The Southern Miss Women?s Soccer team resumes Conference USA play Friday against Memphis at 7 p.m.
The Lady Eagles (6-4, 4-0 in C-USA) are coming off an 8-0 win over Nicholls State, their first victory after a four-game conference slide. In the win, junior forward Tricia Wiles tallied her first career hat trick, leading the 16-shot attack.
The Lady Tigers (3-8-1, 1-3) are coming off a 1-0 loss to Tennessee Tech.
Southern Miss has netted 24 goals on the season, led by Wiles? seven scores. Junior midfielder Katie Adams and freshman midfielder Lauren Prewitt each follow with four goals apiece. Junior forward Lindsay Canham and senior forward Claire Rea each have three assists to lead the team.
Memphis has scored 14 goals on the year, paced by Alison Bakers? three scores. Four players follow with two goals each.
The match will be a homecoming for three Southern Miss players ? Wiles (Germantown, Tenn.), Adams (Collierville, Tenn.) and freshman keeper Anna Snyder (Germantown, Tenn.) ? hailing from the Memphis and surrounding area.
