Lady Eagles Golf Ranks Ninth at Palmetto Intercollegiate
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (Nov. 6) - The Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate Tournament
completed only nine holes in the second round with Southern Methodist leading the
pack with 300-158 - 458 after a round and a half at the Oak Point Golf Course Nov. 6. The Southern Miss women's golf team holds ninth place with 318-167 - 485.
Marella Canepa leads the Lady Eagles with 75-30 - 113 and is tied for fifth place. Ofelia Lopez shot 75-42 - 117 on the first day and placed tied for 16th.
Emily Black carded 83-42 - 125 for a share of 45th, Brena Quaranto scored 86-40 - 126 to tie for 50th, and Jamie Sims finished day one with 89-42 - 131.
Play will resume tomorrow.
The tournament started off with a 38-minute delay due to frost on the course. The late start did not hinder Simpsons performance or her
