Jaela Hammond, a native of Memphis, Tenn., arrived in Hattiesburg in July 2023 to serve as an academic advisor in Student Athlete Academic Services program.

Prior to Southern Miss, Hammond worked as an intern at the University of Memphis in their CAAS program from January 2022 through March 2023, where she worked with sports such as Men’s Basketball, Football, Women’s Soccer, and Volleyball.

Hammond earned her bachelor’s degree in Sport and Leisure Management in May 2022 from the University of Memphis and is currently working on her master’s degree at Southern Miss.
