El-Zare on the addition of Mauldin to the Golden Eagles' coaching staff
"Carly is known as one of the most decorated players ever produced by the state of Mississippi. Being a Laurel, Miss. native she is someone that will really be able to help us with in-state recruiting, and to maintain good relationships with individuals at the grassroots level within the local soccer community. Carly had an outstanding career at West Jones High School, Mississippi State, and at the professional level in Finland. The connections that she has made throughout her career will also help us with recruiting in the Southeast and overseas. She is someone that has been there and done that, and will be well-respected by our student-athletes. Carly has a tremendous soccer IQ, and has already proven to be an asset to our coaching staff in the short amount of time that she has been here. I look forward to the great things that she will do at Southern Miss."
