Southern Miss Soccer Match vs. Mississippi Valley State Canceled
9/8/2025 12:47:00 PM | Women's Soccer
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's soccer match originally scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 4 p.m. CT against Mississippi Valley State at the Marshall Bell Track & Field and Soccer Complex has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
The cancellation ensures the Golden Eagles (1-5-1, 0-0-0 SBC) can move forward without disruption to their training rhythm or upcoming competitive slate. While fans will miss the opportunity to see the Golden Eagles in midweek non-conference action, the focus now shifts to preparing for the beginning of Sun Belt Conference play.
The Golden Eagles are coming off their first victory of the 2025 campaign, a 1-0 shutout win over Louisiana Tech, and will carry that momentum into their next test. Head coach Mohammed El-Zare's squad has shown steady growth on both ends of the pitch, highlighted by the recent scoring surge of Ryan Smith and the composure of the defensive unit that earned its first clean sheet of the season.
