2016 (Junior): Started four of the 13 games in which he appeared...Compiled 36 tackles, five solo...Went all-out on the scene with two interceptions (first of career) in the win at UTEP, the second of which tying a school-record 100 yards on the return...that game made him the first Golden Eagle with two pickoffs in a game since Marquese Wheaton versus SMU in 2011...Kendrick Presley was the previous Southern Miss defender to return an interception the full distance, also in 2011 vs. Memphis...Mikell followed up that two-interception, three-tackle game by tying career-high of eight stops against Rice...finished the season with four tackles each against North Texas and Louisiana Tech before posting five in the New Orleans Bowl...his two interceptions tied for the team-lead, and he was also third with seven kick returns for 116 yards. Heart of Dallas Bowl: Golden Eagles' third-leading tackler with eight stops (six solo) against Washington (12/26)... Also caught a fourth-down pass for 22 yards and a first down from punter Tyler Sarrazin... Returned a kickoff 11 yards. 2015 (Sophomore): Played in all 14 games, primarily on special teams... Finishe with 30 tackles (22 solo), including one for loss... Posted career-high six stops against Austin Peay (9/12)...Also recovered a fumble during the season... Had two catches for 23 yards...
