Traveling to Southern Miss Home Football Games for the 2026 Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – As Southern Miss prepares to open the season against Alcorn State this Saturday, Sept. 5, fans are encouraged to plan ahead by reviewing important gameday information, including parking, traffic and campus access.
Please review the guidelines below to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable gameday experience.
Updates to Travel Patterns
To help reduce congestion and improve traffic flow:
Postgame Traffic Flow
After the game, fans will exit their lots following the highlighted routes on the game day map. Barricades and police personnel will be in place to direct traffic, and with the assistance of local law enforcement, fans will be steered toward the fastest available routes along 4th Street and Hardy Street based on traffic conditions.
RV Parking
Fans with RV parking in Century Park North (Lot 14) or Payne Center (Lot 13) must follow posted maps and staff directions for entry. Entry begins at 6:00 p.m. on Fridays before home games. A physical parking hang tag must be visibly displayed and present in the RV at all times. RVs without a valid hang tag may be subject to towing at the owner's expense. RVs must vacate the lots by 12:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Tailgating Drop-Off Areas
Three unloading zones will be available:
Thad Cochran Center Lot (12)
East Memorial Drive (via Hardy Street entrance)
Ray Guy Way at the roundabout
Drop-off times:
Fridays before home games: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Game day: 7:00 a.m. until 5 hours prior to kickoff (times may vary by kickoff time).
Vehicles must not be left unattended. Fans are required to follow game day signage and University Police Department (UPD) instructions.
Student and Overflow Parking
Overflow and student parking remain available across campus. Students and fans are encouraged to review the Parking & Stadium Map at SouthernMiss.com for details.
Color-Coded Parking System
The Southern Miss color-coded parking system returns for a second year to help streamline game-day entry and improve traffic flow into designated parking lots.
All season ticket holders with allocated parking can access their parking passes through their online accounts. Fans should follow the designated entry routes associated with their parking area.
At the checkpoint, fans will need to display their assigned parking pass and follow the color-coded routes highlighted on the provided parking map to access their designated lot.
