HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Golden Eagles are set to host the Colonels for their first home match of the 2026 season on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Wellness Center.
This will be the third and final preseason match of the year following the Black and Gold scrimmage that took place on Aug. 8, and their exhibition match at Mississippi State from a week ago on Aug. 15.
Saturday will be Fan Fest in Hattiesburg with gates opening at Carlise-Faulker Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium at 10:30 a.m. In honor of this annual event, Volleyball will be giving fans Black Eagle Head koozies, signed Rubber volleyballs (thrown into the crowd during team introductions), 5 x 7 color schedule cards (includes the home schedule on the back side), and 12 x 18 full schedule posters while supplies last. Admission to the game will also be free.
Every Southern Miss home match will have a promotional theme this season and fans will be asked to wear a specific color to each match to create a unified fan base. Saturday's theme will be Back in Black which means fans are being asked to paint the wellness Center black.
Fans who are interested in purchasing season tickets to every Golden Eagle Volleyball home match this season, will have the chance to stop by the Wellness Center lobby where the ticketing team will be selling packages for $65.
Saturday's opponent, Nicholls posted a 13-16 overall record in 2025 with a 3-13 mark during conference play. They finished 10th in the Southland Conference and did not qualify for the Southland Conference tournament.
