Southern Miss Announces Promotional Schedule for 2026 Football Home Games

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Department of Athletics announced Monday the promotional schedule for its 2026 home football schedule at Carlise-Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
The Golden Eagles open the 2026 slate with Alcorn State, Saturday, Sept. 5. Southern Miss, under first-year coach Blake Anderson, also welcomes non-conference foe Connecticut to The Rock for the first time, Sept. 19. Sun Belt home contests also include Arkansas State (Oct. 17), Louisiana (Oct. 24), James Madison (Thurs., Nov. 5) and South Alabama (Nov. 21).

2026 SOUTHERN MISS FOOTBALL PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE
Alcorn State (Sat., Sept. 5) - Home Opener / Football Reunion
* Kicking off the season with a football player reunion with all former Golden Eagles invited back to The Rock (more details to follow)
Connecticut (Sat., Sept. 19) - 601 Community Night
* Celebrating the surrounding community with 601 Community Night.
* First trip to Hattiesburg for UConn
Arkansas State (Sat. Oct. 17) - Kids Takeover at The Rock / M-Club Hall of Fame and Letterwinners Day
* All area youth sports teams, youth groups/organizations and Seymour Sidekicks will be invited to the day's festivities. Click here to register your youth team.
*The newest inductees to the M-Club Hall of Fame will also be celebrated during the game.
Louisiana (Sat., Oct 24) – Homecoming
* Homecoming will take place with all the normal festivities of a Homecoming parade, Homecoming Court presentation at halftime, and alumni being welcomed back.
James Madison (Thurs., Nov. 5) - Thursday Night Under the Lights / Blackout
* A special Thursday night under the lights in The Rock features a matchup against 2025 Sun Belt Conference champion and College Football Playoff squad.
* Fans are encouraged to wear black.
South Alabama (Sat., Nov. 21) - Senior Day / Military Appreciation
* The 2026 senior class will be honored prior to the contest. Southern Miss football seniors will be recognized
* Active and retired military members are honored throughout the game.
* The Annual Turkey Toss will also make an appearance for the second year in Spirit Park.
* Fans can also sponsor a service member for this game through The Seats for Service campaign in a way to show your Golden Eagle Pride while also allowing service members an opportunity to attend a football game and witness first-hand the passion of Southern Miss.
For $15, you can sponsor a service member to attend a home game at The Rock.
