
Volleyball Faces Off Against Mississippi State

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss volleyball (6-2, 0-0 SBC) takes on in-state rival Mississippi State (8-0, 0-0 SEC) on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Wellness Center.
The Golden Eagles head into the match after a three-set sweep against Mercer on Friday with scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-17. Sadie McAda finished the match with her fourth double-double of the season, earning 17 kills and 12 digs. Setter Morgen Durgens finished the night with 31 assists.
Libero Sunni Sheppard currently ranks third in the Sun Belt with 4.78 digs per set. Her 110 digs have aided in limiting opponents to a .170 hitting percentage thus far in the season. Lillie Johnson has also been contributing to the Golden Eagles' defensive scheme, tallying 16.0 blocks in the preseason.
The Bulldogs head into the match after a 3-0 sweep against Mercer Saturday afternoon with scores of 26-24, 25-9 and 25-22. The team overall had a .320 hitting percentage while keeping Mercer to a .151.
