Track and Field Competes in South Alabama Last Chance Meet Sunday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's and women's track and field program competed in the South Alabama Last Chance Meet in Mobile, Ala., Sunday afternoon looking to improve times as well as get ready for the NCAA East Regionals later this month.
Both Taliyah Lindsay (Birmingham, Ala.) and Velencia Watson (Ridgeland, Miss.) ran season-best times of 23.38 and 23.50, respectively, in the women's 200-meter race, while Tyler Nichols (Clinton, Miss.) improved his standing for potential NCAA selection in the men's high jump with a 2.12 meters leap.
Selections for the NCAA East Regional field occur later this week, and with the event taking place in Jacksonville, Fla., May 28-31 and hosted by the University of North Florida.
